COZUMEL,
MEXICO - FALL 2000 A 4-day November birthday cruise to Cozumel from Galveston
aboard Carnival Cruise line's Celebration was put together by Barbara Files for
herself, Cindy Lawson and Jerry Kyle. Kids came, cut Friday and Monday classes, and us
bigger kids called in sick to work. The weather was outstanding, we stuffed
ourselves round, and the kids danced 'til the deck swabbers came out before dawn. |

COLORADO
2003 - The last trip as it turns out from Houston to the cabin. Jill and I drove out
through the mesas, adobe, artist colonies and chili peppers of Sante Fe. Kelley
joined us for the 4th of July celebration in Crested Butte, rafting, jeeping and
mountain climbing. |

NEW YORK
2001 - Marie's principal and a few of the teachers put together a New York City
trip this past March (2001). The timing, as it turned out, couldn't have been
much better - the weather was crisp and good for walking, the food was outstandingly good
and the World Trade Center twin towers were still there. |
 |
New England 2003 - Long time friend of Jill's
back from University of Texas days was married in Baltimore in late September. We
used that as an excuse to travel up thru NY, the coast of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont
to see fall colors. A highlight was the ski lodge in Stowe and of course, maple
syrup in vast quantities. |
 |
WISCONSIN 2001 - Jerry R and Jerry M were hosted by JM's Aunt Yvonne and Uncle Bill for a
week in August at their house on Rice Lake. A terrific week of great food, boating
and meeting long lost relatives was punctuated by a reunion at cousin David Williamson's
lake cabin in Siren.

 |
COLORADO 2004 - Newlyweds Don & Sharon Feige joined us from
Baltimore/DC area with my daughter Kelley for a relaxing time of creative dining, rafting,
hiking and a day of jeeping. |
 |
Trip included an elegant Halloween
party thrown by Denise and John Harris, overnight trips to St. Louis and Kansas City and
plenty of outstanding Missouri fall colors. |
 |
Door County is a peninsula in
northwestern Wisconsin that juts out into Lake Michigan and is bounded on the interior
side by Green Bay. We went up for a week to see fall colors, welcome winter in and
figured, accurately, that we'd pretty much have it to ourselves. |
 |
My first white Christmas ever. And
it was everything it was cracked up to be. First 3 inches of snow then eight.
A magical Xmas eve - soft, silent and snowing. |
 |
Daughter Kelley flew in from her new home in Boulder to her
Dad's new home in Columbia for a white Thanksgiving - a first for both and Kelley's first
time in Columbia. |

August
2005 to intro-
duce Jill to Aunt Yvonne. Then up to Bayfield, the Apostle Islands and
the north shore drive up to Canada from Duluth.
LOTS of good fish to eat! My goodness! Cozy cabins, lovely! |
 |
Back to the Motherland for Jill and me. Big cities, small towns,
cacti and oceans, 18 lane freeways and hill country roads, summer and fall - we got
quite a mix. But most of all saw a lot of good friends. |
