The Time of My Life

This book is an autobiography of Carol (Snell) Kyle written in Sept1980.   She tells of her childhood growing up in Elk Mound, Wisconsin, winters that were often forty degrees below zero with no central heat, why they had no garbage pickup, early toys, the first cars, why the dentist removed all her mother’s teeth to combat glaucoma, their first electrical appliance, dancing, first salary, flying lessons, dating long distance to the jungles of the Amazon and the WWII years and beyond.

Born August 21, 1918 in Amery, WI, her family links to the Snells, the Scampsers from Eau Claire, WI, the Burnsons and Styles from up north and Wisconsin and the Beret Shaaks and Scampsers from Norway

RearView

is an illustrated auto-biography of a small town Wisconsin lad and the events that inexorably unfolded that lead him to unmapped regions of the South American Amazon River jungles, Jivarro head hunters, WWII flight training and then to the early oil fields of Wyoming, Texas and Oklahoma as a young geologist.

It spans the years from 1918 to 1945 during which time the
author's two most hoped-for ambitions as a young teenager
were to to reality because of the war years.

RearView II

Picks up where RearView left off.  It begins in the 1940's and continues through the 1990's.  It tracks the life of an oil company geologist from prospecting in Wyoming, Texas and Oklahoma to the backstreets of Baghdad as manager of foreign geophysics.

A cabin is built in the high Rockies, trips to Hawaii, England, Alaska, Norway, Switzerland and the Caribbean are recounted as well as Carol's Parkinsonism.
